Strand, Thompson Courier, Thompson, IA; September 7, 1961

Alma Strand, 55, died Friday (September 1) at the Winnebago County Home where she had been a patient for 47 years. Funeral Services were held on Monday at 12:30 at the Anderson-Mittlestadt Funeral Home and at Zoar Luthern Church at Lake mills. Burial was at West Prairie Cemetery near Thompson.

Survivors are a brother, Selmer, West Union; 2 sisters, Mrs. Will Hein, Cresco; Mrs. Olaf Remmen, Ossian.

Preceded by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Strand and a sister, Julia.

Mourning her death are brother Selmer Theodore Strand, West Union; Sisters Gina (Will) Hein of Cresco; Marie (Olaf) Remmen of Ossian.
She was preceded in death by sister Julia Amelia who died at 10 days old and mother Tony who died in 1913 a tragic death.
Alma was a patient of the Winnebago County Home since age 9. Funeral services were at the Zoar Lutheran Church in Lake Mills at 12:30 Sept. 4, 1961.
