Wiker, Iver J., banker -- Lake Mills -- born 3 July, 1858, in Valders, Norway. At the age of eight he emigrated with his parents to this country, settling in Decorah, Iowa, but moved to Lake Mills four years later.
Young Wiker received a common school education, and attended a business school in Minneapolis, Minn., for a short time. For several years he worked on his father's farm during the summers and clerked during the winters; was engaged as book-keeper in Lake Mills bank in 1887; afterwards was appointed cashier, and in 1892 became also a stockholder of this concern, which has a capital stock of $50,000. Wiker is a member of the United Norwegian Lutheran Church.
