John "Jack" O'Hearn, 80, of Lehigh, Iowa, died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Stratford Specialty Care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Dayton. Msgr. Kevin McCoy will officiate. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton, Iowa. John Lynn O'Hearn was born on December 3, 1936 in Lehigh, Iowa the son of Harold and Ethyl (Linn) O'Hearn. He graduated with the Lehigh High School class of 1955 and later furthered his education at Northwest Missouri State University.

Jack was inducted into the United States Army in August of 1959 and served until his honorable discharge on August 11, 1961.

On December 14, 1963 Jack was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Anderson at Grace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Matthew.

Jack was a lifelong resident of Lehigh. He had worked at Lehigh Sewer Pipe & Tile, and Stanhoist Engineering in Fort Dodge. Jack later owned and operated O'Hearn Welding and was also employed by Frigidaire in Webster City, Iowa for several years until retiring. He enjoyed working in his welding shop and could make just about anything he needed.

Survivors include his wife, Bev O'Hearn of Lehigh, Iowa; one son, Matt (Mary) O'Hearn of Dayton, Iowa; two granddaughters, Natalie and Nicole Williams; three sisters, Patty Dellachiesa, Sharon (Dave) O'Hearn-Hrubes and Joan (Rob) Lauer all of Lehigh, Iowa; sister-in-law, Coral O'Hearn of Lehigh, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents, one brother, Paul O'Hearn and a brother-in-law, Dick Dellachiesa, preceded him in death.
