Alice Rhodes, 91, a former Duncombe resident, died Saturday, July 15, 2000 at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Foster Funeral Home with Gerald Caquelin officiating. Burial will be at the Washington Township Cemetery in Duncombe. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Alice Pearl Lumsden, daughter of Robert and Faith Stine Lumsden was born on August 27, 1908 at Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School. On Dec. 8, 1928 she married Frank Rhodes at Dakota City. The couple farmed southwest of Duncombe until her husbands death in 1971. Mrs. Rhodes then moved to Duncombe. In March of 2000, she moved to Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Lois Rhodes of Duncombe; Bessie Stark of Independence, Mo.; brother Robert Lumsden of Fort Dodge, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Arthur, daughter, Roberta Setchell, sister Mary Daniel, brother Thomas Lumsden and a half-brother Paul Jordison.

She was a member of the Duncombe United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
