Staci Burke (1958 - 2013)
Staci Burke, 54, died peacefully at her home February 18, 2013, after a hard and courageous fight against ovarian cancer for over seven years.
Staci was born to Jake and Jacque Burke in Fort Dodge, IA, on August 11, 1958. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1976. She attended the University of Iowa earning her B.A. and then continued her education at Iowa State University, where she received a Master's Degree. In 1985, she started working in sales and sales management for Northwestern Bell Yellow Pages. After 27 years of service, she retired in April 2012.
Staci loved traveling, music, concerts with her friends, dancing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and spending time with family and friends. She had a passion for life. We will all miss her radiant smile, her beautiful blue eyes and her generosity. Most of all, we will miss her love. We feel very blessed that she was our wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband, Phil Rawson (Phil's children, Eric, Jodi, Tanya and Jacob); her mother, Jacque; her brother, Tom (Peggy) and their sons, Colin and Jake Burke; and her sister, Shawn (Paul Scott) and their children, Caroline, Meredith and Burke Scott.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jake Burke.
