Death of Frank Tallman

Frank Tallman, father of F. J. Tallman of Cascade, who died at his home near Fort Dodge, on Monday September 14, was born in Kinvarra, County Galway, Ireland, in 1827. He came to the United States in 1850, residing in New York and Ohio for two years. Coming West he lived in Dubuque a year and then removed to Jones County where he remained until 1868, when he removed to Fort dodge, settling on the farm where he passed the reminder of his days and where he died.

His first wife was Johanna Cleary who died in 1865. He married again and his second wife was Julia Turner, who survives him. He also survived by the following children: F. J. Tallman of Cascade; Patrick, Michael, Edward, Mrs E. Warden, and Mrs Ormond of Fort Dodge and Miss B. Tallman of Chicago.

The funeral was held on the 16th in Fort Dodge, and was conducted by Rev. P. J. Barka, who spoke very highly of the deceased, whom he pronounced a credit to his religion, and a fine type of Christian manhood.
