Herbert Carl Olson was born 9 Dec 1890 in Michigamme, Marquette, Michigan to Gustaf Albin Olson and Mathilda G. Molstedt, died 6 Nov 1963 in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. He moved from Michigan with his parents and siblings before 1903 to Fort Dodge, Webster County, Iowa where he went to public school.

"Herbert Carl Olson, 72, of 908 N. Grant Ave., died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born in Michigan and lived in Tacoma 20 years, coming from Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the home; a son, Howard, of Tacoma; a sister, Mrs. Linda Olson, of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a brother, Elmer, of Mosinee, Wis., and several nieces and nephews.
