Services for Mrs. Arthur F. Marsh, 88, Fremont, California, formerly of 212 S. 6th St., Fort Dodge, will be at 1:30pm Thursday in Bruce Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Gary Hindman, minister, and the Rev. Dr. Harris G. Hilscher, visitation minister of First United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 pm Wednesday.
Mrs. Marsh died Monday morning at Washington Hospital in Fremont of a heart attack. She had a heart condition for several years.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur F. Marsh; sons, Donald A. Marsh, Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Robert E. Marsh, Jefferson City, Missouri; daughter, Mrs. Fred (Elaine) Crouse Jr., Fremont; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. J. Leland (Inza) Rice, Des Moines, and Miss Laoni Mater, Fort Dodge.
Ethel Edna Mater was born in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1910 and also graduated from Tobin College in Music and taught school. She was employed at the Boston Store for several years before her marriage to Arthur F. Marsh in 1917.
Mr. and Mrs. Marsh had spent the past several winters in Fremont with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Crouse. The Marshs' then moved to Fremont in July 1979 to live.
Mrs. Marsh was a 75 year member of First Presbyterian Church here, and was a 50 year member of Aurora Chapter No. 311, Order of Eastern Star. She was a past commander and member of US Army Mothers Post No. 2, and past commander and member of the Navy Mothers Club, Fort Dodge.
Memorials may be donated to the Library Fund of the First United Presbyterian Church.
