James Steven Brown,77 of Elwood,Indiana, a former resident ,died Thursday morning at Mercy Hospital where he had been a medical patient since Saturday.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St.Pauls Lutheran Church with the Rev.Paul R.Heckmann senior pastor officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.Friends may call at the Guenther Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Friday until 12 noon Monday when the casket will be taken to the church.
Surviving are seven sons.J.C, Howard, Chester, Arthur K. and Richard D.Brown,all of Fort Dodge; Robert L. Lehigh; Donald W. Carroll; two daughters, Mrs. Clem Dye,Elwood Indiana; Mrs. Raymond Thomas, Indianapolis,Ind. 30 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mr.Brown was born at Jolley.He married Esther E.Thornberg in Rockwell City in 1914 and the couple lived in the Manson, Pomeroy, and Fort Dodge areas.While in Fort Dodge Mr.Brown was employed in the house moving business from 1930 until retirement in 1952, when he moved to Elwood Ind. He had been ill for a year and returned to Fort Dodge on Friday prior to admittance to the hospital Saturday.
