Harcourt - A beautiful church wedding took place recently when Miss Arline Swanson, daughter of Oscar Swanson, became the bride of Clarence Johnson, also of Harcourt.
The ceremony took place in the Methodist church with the Rev. Robert A. Dahl in charge.
Mrs. Lloyd Swanson of Chicago presented a concert of piano music before the bridal party entered the church. During the serivce Lloyd Swanson, uncle of the bride, sang "Through the Years", "Lord We at Thy Altar Stand" and as a final selection, "Crown Us With Thy Benediction".
The bride wore a long white gown of brocaded lace. It had long sleeves and a train. She wore a finger tip veil and carried a bouquet of yellow roses and baby's breath. She was given in marriage by her brother.
Miss Lenore Swanson, sister of the bride, maid of honor wore a yellow net dress and a yellow finger tip veil. She carried a colonial bouquet.
The bridesmaids, Miss Ardyce Swanson and Miss Carol Anderson were gowned in blue net with blue veils. They also carried colonial bouquets.
The groom was attended by his brother, Sherman, who served as best man. Ushers were Merle Swanson, the bride's brother and Dwight Swanson.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held it the church basement.
Toastmaster at the program was Elmer Swanson of Wilton Junction. Vocal numbers were given by Miss Helen Peterson and C.V. Nordholm. Short talks were given by the Rev. Lawrence Swanson of Whitten and the Rev. Robert A. Dahl.
The lunch was served by eight friends of the couple, the Misses Ann Malmborg, Nina Culver, Evelyn and Lucille Peterson and Robert Gustafson, Maynard Peterson, Norman Anderson and Paul Larson.
Miss Lily Peterson was in charge of the gifts.
Out-of-town guests were the Rev. and Mrs. Lawrence Swanson and family of Whitten, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Swanson and family of Wilton Junciton, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Swanson and family of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Froisland and family of Moorland.
