--LINEVILLE TRIBUNE. -- On last Friday evening MALCOLM LANE, who drives one of J.J. White's transfer wagons, went to the slaughter house west of town to bring the carcass of a beef to the east side meat market, and his little step-son, EWELL WILSON, aged about 3 1/2 years, went along with him as usual. On returning as he was seated on the elevated spring seat beside his step-father, one of the fore wheels of the wagon dropped into a rut in the road, giving the seat a rather quick downward and forward motion. Neither were thrown off the seat, but as LANE turned to catch the little fellow in case he should fall, he noticed that his head had dropped forward on his breast and that his form was limp and lifeless. A hasty examination showed that he was unconscious, and with Mayor A.N. Harring, who happened to be nearby, they carried the little fellow into R.E. Molleston's residence and immediately telephoned to town for a physician, in the meantime doing all that was possible to revive the unconscious child. Dr. J.C. Glendenning hurried to the scene and upon examination pronounced the boy dead, stating that in all probability death had been instantaneous, as the neck was no doubt dislocated. He was a bright little fellow, but rather delicate and frail, and his unfortunate death was a sad bereavement to the family.

The funeral took place from the residence on West Hill, Saturday afternoon, the remains being interred at the McKinney Graveyard, south of town.
