Obituary

Madyline Jane Halterman passed away at Lewiston on January 18, 2013, at the age of 91. She had recently moved to Lewiston, ID from Des Moines to be closer to her daughter and family.

Madyline was born in Humeston, IA, to Wilbur and Bernadine Kipper on September 19, 1921. She graduated from Humeston High School. After high school, she attended a two year college at Des Moines. She then went to work for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. During her career, she attained the position of supervisor. She retired in 1986, after 45 years of service.

On October 1, 1946, Madyline married John Halterman. They had one daughter, Linda Jane. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; sister, Mardelle Alte; and grandson, Brian Vantrease. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Vantrease of Lewiston; husband, Wayne; three grandsons, Jim Cook of Lewiston, Brad Cook of Raleigh, NC, and Mike Vantrease of Lewiston; and ten great-grandchildren.

She will be buried in Des Moines, IA, with John on April 4, at 3 p.m. in a graveside service at Merle Hay cemetery with Pastor Scott Rains officiating.
