Obituary -

(The Mirror "Reflecting Mercer County" Mercer, Missouri February 8, 1994)

ANDREW COCHELL (St. Mary's, KS) ... Andrew A. Cochell, son of John and Neva [Fogelsong] Cochell, was born in Mercer County, on November 23, 1902, and died at the St. Mary's Manor in St. Mary's, KS, on February 3, 1994, at the age of 91 years.

Andy was united in marriage to Clistea McReynolds on December 18, 1924, in Corydon, IA. Clistea survives him of the home in St. Mary's. He is also survived by his daughter, Mary Linda Fontaine, of Pittsburg, KS; his granddaughter, Crystea Lynette Fontaine, also of Pittsburg; a step-grandson, Frankie Fontaine, of Arma, KS; and by his sister, Cleo Torrey, of Princeton. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by two sisters, Esther Cook and Alice McIntosh.

Andy had been a barber in Mercer, worked on the AL-Can Highway for 3 years, and was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 25 years; retiring in 1970. After his retirement, he worked for the Lakin-Schwanke Car Wash in St. Mary's for 10 years. He was a member of the St. Mary's United Methodist Church and Pottawatomie Lodge # 52 A.F.& A.M. in St. Mary's. He had been a mason for over 60 years.

Funeral services were held February 7,1994, at 10:00 a.m., at the St. Mary's United Methodist Church, under the direction of the Verschelden Funeral Home of St. Mary's, KS.

Graveside services and burial were held Tuesday, February 8, 1994, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ravanna Cemetery in Ravanna, with Rev. Jeff Brinkman officiating, under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Princeton.
