Carlton Wilson dies Sunday

Carlton C. Wilson, attorney in Washington for the past 64 years and for many years a member of the board of directors of the National Bank of Washington, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 1967 at the Washington County Hospital. Death followed a very short illness. He was 89 years old.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. James Catholic church with the Rev. Edward F. Collins in charge. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson was born in Washington Jan.21, 1878, a son of Charles J. and Clara Conger Wilson. He was reared here and graduated University of Iowa at Iowa City and was admitted to the bar in 1903.
He was married here April 30, 1914 to Julia Swift and had been a life-long resident of the Washington community.

He was a veteran of the Spanish-American war.

Surviving are his wife; one sister, Miss Helen Wilson; and a number of nieces and nephews. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
Members of the Washington County Bar Association will meet in the basement of St. James church Tuesday morning to attend the funeral in a group. Members are asked to enter the church through the north door.

The National Bank of Washington will not open Tuesday morning until after the funeral serviced for Mr. Wilson.

Sherman-Eden Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
