FLORENCE MAXWELL

Mrs. Florence Maxwell, 98, of Crawfordsville died Tuesday, March 30, 1982, at Washington County Hospital. She became seriously ill on March 25.

Graveside rites were held Friday, April 2 at 10 a.m. in the Crawfordsville Cemetery. Memorials will go to the United Church of Crawfordsville.

Mrs. Maxwell was born at Fairfield on March 30, 1884, a daughter of Gustav and Caroline Sologren Johnson. She moved to Crawfordsville in 1894 and resided there for the rest of her life. She was married April 22, 1908, at Quincy, 111. to Thomas E. Maxwell. She was a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville.

Mrs. Maxwell was a housewife, but in her early years, she attended Washington Academy and taught schools in Washington County for a number of years. Mr. Maxwell died on Dec. 7, 1938.

Surviving is two sons, Maurice of Crawfordsville and Ted of San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Johnson of Columbia, Mo. One sister also preceded her in death.
