Alta Miller

KALONA - Mrs. Lawrence (Alta) Miller, 75, died following a sudden illness Monday at the Pleasantview Home, where she had resided the past year.
Services for Mrs. Miller are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Kalona Mennonite Church, the Rev. Carl Smeltzer officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemtery in Kalona. Friends may call at the Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona, Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established for the Pleasantview Home.
Mrs. Miller was born Feb. 14, 1900 near Kalona, to Milo M. and Delilah Miller Kempf. She married Mr. Miller Sept. 1, 1927 at Wayland, and the couple farmed in the Kalona area before moving to town 18 years ago. She was a member of the Kalona Mennonite Church.
Survivors included her husband; a son, Russell of Calico Rock, Ark.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Milo Miller of Kalona and Mrs. Chester Miller of Wellman; and two brothers, Zene Kempf of Prescott, Ariz. and Glen of Tustin, Calif.
A brother and two sisters died earlier.
