John R. Burkley

KALONA - John R. Burkley, 64, of Kalona, died today at University Hospital where he ahd been a patient for six weeks prior to his death.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Peterseim Funeral Chapel in Kalona with burial in the Sharon Hill Cemetery, Kalona. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening.
Mr. Burkley was born in Washington County on Jan. 31, 1909, the son of Henry and Johanna Sommers Burkley.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Velma Waldschmidt of Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Barbara Small of Kalona; and several nieces.
