Harley, son of Dan and Fannie (Schrock) Coblentz, was born February 8, 1909, at McMinnville, Oregon. He passed away at his home after a short illness on July 15, 1973, at the age of 64 years, 5 months, 7 days. In his youth he accepted Christ as his Saviour and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
On June 8, 1938, he was united in marriage to Barbara Gingerich in North Dakota. After living there for six years they moved to the Kalona area in the fall of 1943, where they made their home the rest of his life. Born to this union are: Daniel, married to Esther Yoder, Joe, married to Susie Schrock, of Kalona; Ruby, Fannie Mae, Marie Arlene, Elijah and Dwight Glenn all at home.
Also surviving are 9 grandchildren; one brother David, Oxford, Iowa; and 5 sisters: Mrs. Monroe (Barbara) Bender, Kalona; Mrs. Mennon (Anna) Slabaugh, Iowa City; Mrs. Elmer (Mattie) Hohnberger, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Andy (Tillie) Slabaugh, Kalona; and Mrs. Mahlon A. (Clara) Miller, Kalona; plus many nieces, nephews and friends.
Harley was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lizzie.APPRECIATION
