OBITUARY

Sovilla Overholt, daughter of Samuel E. and Mary (Miller) Chupp, was born June 2, 1887, in Elkhart County, Indiana; and passed away July 1, 1973, at the Samuel J. Overholt home near Kalona, Iowa, after an illness of one year.
Sovilla accepted Christ as her Saviour in her youth and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She was united in marriage to John A. Overholt on October 23, 1913. They moved from Kansas to Iowa in 1926. Born to this union were six children, including Samuel J., Kalona; John Jr., Des Moines; and Susie, Mrs. Edward E. Miller, Grandin, Missouri; all surviving.
Also surviving are her husband, John A.; four brothers, Noah and Jake, Goshen, Indiana; Mose, Sturgis, Michigan; Eli, Elkhart, Indiana; and one sister, Mrs. Jake (Barbara) Mast, Kalona; nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Two sons and one daughter preceded her in death.
