PETERSEIM FUNERAL SERVICE - KALONA, IOWA

Mrs. Mary Hochstetler died at her home in Kalona Wednesday morning, April 1, 1970 at the age of 93 years, 5 months, and 12 days. She had been in ill health several months.
Mary was born in Howard County, Indiana, a daughter of Jacob and Mary Schmucher Zook. On January 21, 1900 she was married to Emanual B. Hochstetler in Indiana. He preceded her in death in 1952.
Mrs. Hochstetler was a resident of Kalona 40 years, previous to that time they farmed in the area. She was a member of the Conservative Mennonite Church.
She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. E.N. (Katie) Swartzendruber, Wellman, Mrs. Ella Roderer, St. Louis, MO., Mary Hochstetler, Iowa City, Mrs. Gerald (Edna) Teets, Kalona, Eliza and Lizzie Hochstetler, Kalona, one nephew, Daniel Zook , Plattsville, Michigan, one foster granddaughter, Mrs. Norman Berkshire, Elkhard, Ind. She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Barbara, Mrs. Tony Maier, two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial fund has been established in her memory for Pleasantview Home.
Funeral Serivces for Mrs. Hochstetler will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday, April 4, 1970 at the Kalona Mennonite Church with Morris Swartzendruber and Carl Smeltzer, ministers in charge. Interment will be made in the East Union Cemetery.
The body will remain at the Peterseim Funeral Home until time of services. Visitation will begin Tuesday morning until time of services. The casket will not be opened after the funeral services.
