Nelson Allan Howell

Nelson Allan Howell, 33, of Washington, Iowa, died of a sudden illness Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Washington County Hospital in Washington.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 11 at First Baptist Church in Washington with the Rev. Brett Best officiating. Burial will be in Howard Grove Cemetery in Washington. (Handwritten: Jefferson Co.)

Visitation began at noon today at Jones Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m. A memorial has been established for his chilren, Bobby and Staci.

Mr. Howell was born Nov. 14, 1966, in Oskaloosa, the son of Ted Allan and M. Jo Roberts Howell. He married Sharon Ann McWhorter April 22, 1989, in Barnes City.

He graduated from Washington High School in 1985 and attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. He lived in Cedar Rapids for seven years, but lived most of his life in Washington. He managed Stage Four State Theater in Cedar Rapids and delivered Cedar Rapids Gazette newspapers for seven years. He was involved in music programs during school and was in several productions at the Washington Community Theater. He was involved with his children, including volunteer coaching.

Survivors include his wife; two children, Bobby and Staci at home; his mother of Washington; one sister, Katy Wulf of Davenport; and foster sister, Nikki Lee of Wayland.

He was preceded in death by his father; foster brother, Ron Feil; and his grandparents.
