Adolph Kupka Dies From Heart Attack Thursday
Adolph Kupka died from a heart attack south of Iowa City last Thursday afternoon. He had stopped his pickup truck to adjust the tire chains when he suffered the attack.
Adolph Kupka, son of Anton and Anna Zajicek Kupka was born at Riverside, Iowa, March 30, 1878 and later moved with his parents to a farm west of Kalona where he resided until his death on December 27, 1951 at the age of 73 years, 8 months, and 27 days.
Mr. Kupka spent the greater part of his life in farming on the home place.
Preceding him in death were his father Anton, mother Anna, brother Joe and one infant brother, and sister, Mrs. Emma Shalla.
Surviving are Mary and Anna Kupka at home, Tillie, Mrs. Frank Nejedly, and Sylvia, Mrs. Melack Kolosiek all of Kalona and a host of relatives and friends.
Adolph was a member of the Kalona I.O.O.F. lodge.
Funeral services were held at the Kalona Methodist church Sunday, December 30 at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Milton Hollingshead. Organist, Mrs. M.L. Tweeton and vocalists were Mrs. V. Hartzler and Mrs. F. Skola. Pallbearers were Joe Kolosiek, Roscoe Kolosiek, Fred Nejedly, Joe Belka, Charles Marek, Roy R. Miller, Ora Gingerich and Raymond Cortum.
Internment was made in the family lot in the Richmond Cemetery, with Peterseim & Son Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
