Winifred Ruth Hotle

Winifred Ruth Hotle, 86, residing in Bentonsport died Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bill Shewmaker officiating. Burial was in West Chester Cemetery in West Chester.

Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1547 Broad St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. Hotle was born May 3, 1928, in rural Washington County near Ainsworth, the daughter of Martin and Gwendolyn Telford. She married Hal Hotle June 3, 1950, in Kremlin, Oklahoma.

She was an Ainsworth alumni, graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College and worked in five different banks.

She and her husband spent 2.5 years in England with the Army Air Corps. While in England, they visited eight European countries. She was very proud of her husband's son's and brother-in-law military service.

She was an active lifelong Christian, loved gardening and her flowers.

Survivors include: her husband of Bentonsport; four sons, Timothy Hotle and wife Nancy of Georgia, Barry Hotle and Julie Myers of Keosauqua, Eric Hotle and wife Lynn of Georgia and Robin Hotle and wife Thuy of Georgia; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James Telford.
