Plan Services for Mrs. Martin Miller

Mrs. Martin P. Miller, 86, died Sunday morning at five o’clock in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ben Wallace at Iowa City, where she had been living for some time. Mrs. Miller had been failing in health for several years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, September 21, in the Jones funeral home with Dr. Fred E. Miller in charge. Burial will be in Elm Grove cemetery.
Willie Daugherty was born Feb. 13, 1863 on a farm near Muscatine. She was the daughter of T. S. and Christina Rhodes Daugherty. She was reared and educated here and was married in June 1884 to Martin P. Miller. Seventy-five years of her life was spent here.
Following the death of her husband in 1904, Mrs. Miller took over the active management of the New York store here until her children had finished their education.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Wallace of Iowa City; two sons, Thomas S. of Chicago, Ill.; and Maxwell P. of Rockford, Ill.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
