Fleta Gennette Spivey died Fri., April 19, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.
She was born August 14, 1919 to Thomas Jefferson McVoy and Lydia Angline (Amlong) McVoy. She attended Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. She married Lawerence Greiner on Dec., 13, 1941 and later married Donald B. "Tom" Spivey on Dec., 13, 1947. She was a member of the Immanuel Luthern Church, VFW Auxilary and volunteered at the VA Hospital in Iowa City for 14 years. She was employed by McCleery Cumming, Washington Manufacture, Advance Ross and Oral B in Iowa City where she retired in 1984. She was a long time resident of Washington and an avid bingo player.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Mueller; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Robert G. McAvoy; and a sister, Mary A. Schladweiler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a son, Lawrence Greiner Jr.; and a sister, Beulah Osborne.
Funeral services will be April 24 at Jones-Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Gentz officiating. Interment will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery at Washington.
