Margaret A. Miller

Margaret A. Miller, 90, of Mt. Pleasant, and formerly of Brighton, died Monday morning, Nov. 17, 2014, at Great River Hospice Health Center in Burlington.

Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

Margaret A. Miller

Margaret A. Miller, 90, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Brighton, died Monday morning, Nov. 17, 2014, at Great River Medical Center in Burlington.

A memorial service is planned at 10 a.m. Friday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with the Rev. Deborah Stowers officiating. The body has been cremated per Mrs. Miller's request. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton.

Friends can join the family for lunch at noon Friday at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, followed by a 1 p.m. prayer service led by Stowers.

Memorials for First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant can be left at the funeral home or the church.

Mrs. Miller was born Dec. 3, 1923, in Brighton, the daughter of Christopher David and Fern Elizabeth Williams Mann. She married John William Miller, and they later divorced.

Mrs. Miller graduated from Brighton High School then moved to Chicago to work during World War II.

She managed the Brighton Book Bindery and Brighton Sundries store, both in Brighton, before her retirement.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant and a former a member of the Brighton United Church where she was very active.

Survivors include: one daughter, Jean Evans of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; one son, Joe Miller; one brother, Willard F. Mann; and one sister, Lucile Hamann.
