Services set for Richardson

WASHINGTON - Enola F. Richardson, 69, died Tuesday at the Washington Care Center following an eight-year illness with leukemia.

She was born April 23, 1918, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Charles and Ella Trial Rubey. She was educated in Jefferson County.

She married William G. Richardson Aug. 12, 1951, in Fairfield. She began her teaching in Jefferson County rural schools in 1940. Later she taught at West Chester and Washington School systems from 1948 to 1980 before retiring.

Mrs. Richardson was a member of the Washington County Retired Teachers Association, Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, Damascus Shrine, United Methodist Women and the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, William of Washington; one son, Terry of Tiffin; four sisters, Elsie Neece, Richland; Eloise Norton, Oskaloosa; Emma Kurtz, South English; and Laura Mae Leu, Fairfield; and one brother, Carroll Rubey, Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Services for Mrs. Richardson will be 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Washington. There will be an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Jones Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin Thursday at 9 a.m. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.

Memorials may be made to the Knights Templar Eye Foundation or the Iowa Leukemia Foundation.
