Alonzo B. Moore

Died — Of typhoid fever, at the residence of Dr. Parker, in this town on Thursday, the 6th inst. Alonzo B. Moore, Aged 23 years.

Mr. Moore had been but a short time a resident of our pleasant village, having arrived from Lowell, Mass., about the 1st of June last. Yet few persons of longer residence have secured as many and as warm friends as has the subject of this sketch. He showed himself a man having a soul ever warm and free in its sympathies, not only for the happy and joyous, but also for those in sorrow and distress—ever ready to give a helping hand and an encouraging look to all who needed aid. His many friends were not only willing, but showed themselves anxious, at all times and at any moment, to render all the assistance in the power of kind humanity and friendship. His every wish was anticipated, and every want supplied, but all availed only to sooth and comfort his last hours in a land far from the home of his childhood, and he happy scenes of his youth.
