James Warren Shafer Dies in Walla Walla.

-Word has been received here of the death of James Warren Shafer, 71, of Walla Walla, Wash., formerly a resident of Washington. He died May 26 at 8:30 p.m.

Mr. Shafer was born March 26, 1887 in Brighton. He was a painter and paper hanger here for a number of years.

Surviving are eight children: Warren Junior Shafer, Dorothy York, Marion (Moon) Shafer, and Marguerite Musgrove of Washington, Ia.; Ross Shafer of Davenport; Marcella Miller of San Jose, Calif.; Ward Shafer and Maxine York of Fresno, Calif.

Also surviving are his wife, Hilda, of Walla Walla; and two sisters; Maude Spohn of Coppock and Pere Teninty of Eagle Creek, Ore.; and a brother, Ward Shafer of Hollywood, Calif.; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
