DAVISON, WAGNER, WELLS, BAIN, WATSON, FOX, AND POULSEN

William Russell DAVISON, 87, of Wayland, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at McCreedy Home in Washington following a brief illness.

Funeral was held Saturday, Jan. 28, at United Methodist Church in Washington, with the Rev. Dennis FOX and the Rev. Julie POULSEN officiating.

Mr. DAVISON was born March 27, 1918, in Washington County, to William Roy and Eva (WAGNER) DAVISON. He married Helen WELLS on June 1, 1941 east of Brighton.

Mr. DAVISON graduated from Wayland High School in 1936 as valedictorian of his class. He farmed all of his life north of Coppock. His farm was recognized as a Century Family Farm in 1976. He served on the school boards of Wayland and WACO. He served as a Township trustee, was a member of United Methodist Church in Washington, where he served on several committees, and as president of the trustees. He was a member of Wayland Antique Tractor Club, served on the board of directors of the Wayland Museum and helped restore the Conger House in the Conger Museum.

Mr. Davison enjoyed playing in German bands and played in the Brighton town Band for nine years. He enjoyed welding, mechanics, working on tractors and working with wood and photos.

Mr. Davison is survived by his wife, Helen, of Wayland; two sons, William Rollin DAVISON and wife Laurie of Wayland, and Timon DAVISON and wife Gail, of Iowa City; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother Everett, of Wayland, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter; two sisters, Rosa BAIN and Lucille WATSON; and one daughter inlaw, Lora DAVISON.
