FUNERAL OF MRS. HOUCK HELD TODAY

SERVICES HELD FOR WASHINGTON WOMAN WHO DIED SUDDENLY SATURDAY

Funeral service for Mrs. Alex Houck, who died suddenly last Saturday afternoon, were held today at two o'clock at the Goodin funeral parlors, in charge of Dr. W. W. bowers, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was in Elm Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Houck years ago joined the Methodist church and had retained strong religious convictions to the end of her life. Her sudden death was a shock to many friends in the community.

Her name before marriage was Maria J. Riley and she was born in Illinois, but when a small girl moved to Henry county, near Coppock. She was married to Alex Houck between 55 and 60 years ago. He has been dead for a number of years.

Their only child was Charles Houck, who lives west of Washington. There were also two step-children, James Houck, who died about twelve years ago and is buried here, and Mrs. Nettie Robertson of Council Bluffs. A sister lives in Denver, Colo.
