Forest Arthur Cline

Forest Arthur cline, 78, of Washington, Iowa died Saturday, March 18, 1997 at Washington Care Center following a long illness.

The funeral service will be held at Jones and Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Richard Boyd officiating. Open visitation began today at the funeral home with the family present from 7 to 8:30 tonight. Memorials can be made to Lending Hands.

Cline was born January 28, 1918 in Fairfield, the son of Clarence and Ora May Nelson Cline. He married Velona Yeoman on September 3, 1944 in Fairfield. He attended Fairfield schools, moving to Washington in 1960. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. While in Fairfield, he was a farmer. He then worked as a custodian for 16 years at the University of Iowa and also during that time he worked for Earl Wood Construction for 9 years.

Survivors include his wife; five children: Flora May Zanger and Roger, both of Iowa City, Esther, Evan, Raymond and Harold all of Washington; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Erleu "Ivan" of Fairfield and Oen of Fort Worth, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Lorene Cline and Olive Coil.
