Iowa City Press Citizen newspaper, Iowa City, Iowa; June 25, 1920:
"John Fesler is Bereaved - John Fesler has been summoned to Muscatine
to attend the funeral of his only brother, Daniel Albert Fesler, whose death
of heart disease was recorded in the Daily Press last evening.
The decedent was president of the Fesler Piano company at Muscatine,
where his son Lyle, was associated with him in business.
Prior to removal to Muscatine, five years ago, the Feslers were engaged
in farm implement business at Riverside, and were widely known through-
out Johnson, Iowa, Muscatine, and Washington counties.
Mr. Fesler was a resident of Riverside nearly all his life. He was upwards
of 70 years of age.
In banking circles, Mr. Fesler was also well known throughout south-eastern
Iowa, being president of the Riverside Savings bank many years, after serving
as cashier thereof.
Mr. Fesler was taken suddenly ill about 10 days ago, while en route on a train,
from Muscatine to Burlington. He fainted at that time, and the physician who
treated him, advised him to take a rest for the remainder of the summer, as his
health was gravely imperiled -- a warning that the sudden death, yesterday,
verified with sad completeness.

Surviving are his six children, three sons and three daughters - Lyle, Muscatine,
Ray, Marengo, Guy, North Liberty, and Mesdames L. C. Hurt, Tulsa, Okla.; J. V.
Kennefick, Davenport; and Violet Boorse, Des Moines.
Many friends will mourn the death of the worthy pioneer."
