E. Ray Schooley, 64, formerly of Washington, died early Monday, Feb 23, 1983, at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital. Mr. Schooley was born Nov 17, 1918, in Brighton, the son of Marion and Mary Barnett Schooley. He married Mary Baker on Oct 5, 1952. She preceded him in death. Survivors include five children; Janice (Mrs. Batin)Blades and Thomas E. both of Des Moines, Sue (Mrs. Dan L)Crossett and James E., both of Washington, and Cindy of Iowa City; four brothers; Dale, Lester, and John of Des Moines, Roy of Dayton OH., and two sisters; Edith Smith, Packwood, and Grace Harris, Las Vegas, NV. His parents, four brothers, one sister, three daughters and one grandchild also preceded him in death.
