Clara S. Brown, 92, of Washington died Tuesday, April 23, 1985, at the Washington Care Center. She was born Oct 25, 1892, in Keokuk County to John and Catherine Streit Palm. She graduated from Keota High School and taught rural school for three years. She married Clarence Brown, March 23, 1915, at Fairfield. Mrs. Brown lived most of her life in Washington County and was a member of the Christian Church and past president of Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include her widower; three daughters, Josephine Mullikin and Leila Mullikin of Brighton and Virginia Paxson of Packwood; four sons, Doyle and Clarence Jr. of Washington, Kenneth of New London, and Dale of Jackson, MO; 26 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Eva Fosdick of Marion. She was prceded in death by two brothers, seven sisters, a son and three grandchildren.
