Marie W. (Jones) Yoder, 91, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, in the McCreedy Home, washington, Iowa , following a period of declining health.
Services: 10:30 a.m. today, Immanuel Luthern Church, Washington, By pastor Linda Forr.
Burial: Keota Cemeetery. Arrangements by Beatty FUneral Home, Washington.
A general Memorial in the name of Marie Yoder has been established.
Maried was born Sept. 4, 1915, newar West Chest, the daughter of Noah Everett and martha (Baker) West. She atteded School in West Chester until her last two years when she attended school in washington and graduated. Maried was untied in marriage to Kermit Jones on Octo. 8, 1936. She later married Delmar "Bill" Yoder on Sept. 18, 1971.
She was a member of the Washington Christian Church, past noble grand of the Rebekeh Lodge and member of the Easter Star for 50 years. Marie taught for a short time at country school, worked as a book keeper and owned and operated a cafe in Wayland. She taught Sunday school in both Washington and Keota and volunteered at Washington COunty Hospital. She lived in Keota for many years moving to Washing in 1968.
Survivors include her gusband Delmar "Bill" of Washington: her children, Karl JOnes and wife Paulette of Bettendorf and Ray (Beth) Jones of Washington: stepchildren Donna Williams and husband Jim of Cedar Rapids, Linda Wheatley and husband Dan of Iowa City, Peg & husband (Bruce ) Smith of Washington and Roxanne Tang and husband Ray of Iowa City; a stepdaughter in law, Susan Yodard Edwards and husband Jim E. of North Dakota: Two sisters, Opal Bowen of Wayland and Bonnie Kempf of Prescott, Arizona; 12 grandchildren: 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; her first husband, Kermit; a son, Richard; a stepson Larry Yoder, twin sister in infancy a brother, Rex.
