John O. Dayton was playing billiards last night in Basaket’s saloon, Westchester, Iowa, when someone shot at him through the window, the bullet passing through his intestines and being cut out near his spine. The wound is believed to be fatal. One E. C. Clemens has been arrested, the only evidence yet adduces against him being that he has often threatened to kill Dayton. Dayton was shot at through a window a year ago, the bullet passing within a few inches of his head.
