Couples Say Wedding Vows Over Weekend

Linda Sue Geyer and Noah W. Kemp of Kalona were married at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Sharon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Elgin Howard.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Geyer of Route 1 and Mr. and Mrs. Benedick S. Kemp of rural Kalona.
The bride's gown of sata peau over taffeta had sheer full sleeves, A-line silhouette, chapel length train and trim of embroidered lace. Her chapel-length veil was edged with lace and caught to a halo bonnet. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and white daisies on her mother's white Bible.
Maid of honor was Joyce Pickeral of Iowa City. Bridesmaids were Christine Geyer of Iowa City, sister of the bride, and Fannie Kemp of Kalone, sister of the bridegroom. Flower girl was Kathy Fountain of Kalona, cousin of the bride.
They wore yellow double knit gowns with scooped necklines, empire waists and puffed sleeves and carried white daisies.
Alvin Kemp of Kalona was his brothers' best man. Groomsmen were Merle Lantz of Colorado Springs, Colo, and Lloyd Bender of Kalona. Ringbearer was Kurtis Kemp of Kalona, nephew of the bridegroom.
Ushers were Omer Kemp of Iowa City, brother of the bridegroom; Wayne Geyer of Oxford, uncle of the bride; Stanley Yoder of Louisville, Ky., brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Ronald Wiles of Wellman, brother-in-law of the bride.
A reception was held in the church's fellowship hall.
A graduate of Mid-Prairie High School and the University of Iowa College of Education, Mrs. Kemp teaches at Mid-Prairie High School in Wellman. Her husband is the owner and manager of Professional Muffler, Inc. of Iowa City.
The couple will live in Kalona.
