The Hon. Joseph R. Lewis, of Washington, Iowa, has been appointed and confirmed Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Idaho. This is an appointment worthily bestowed. Mr. Lewis is an old citizen of Washington County and has acquired an enviable reputation as an attorney, and a thorough honest and upright man. He has been identified with the Republican Party from its earliest organization, and to his earnest and judicious labors Washington County is greatly indebted for its present Radical political standing. Standing at the head of the bar in his county, foremost in all enterprises having for their object the advancement and development of his county and state, he will be missed and his place not easily filled in his old home. The best wishes of his numerous friends will accompany him to his new station and labor in the far west.
