Samuel V. Bell and wife, Mary G. Smith were bd. in St. John's Cem. near Cumming, Linn Twnshp., Warren Co. Iowa. Gravestones show Samuel b. 1876 d. 1960 and Mary b. 1881 d. 1949.

1880 Census shows that Samuel was son of Thomas A. Bell and Margaret J. Bell (may have been 2nd wife). This census is available at LDS FamilySearch site via the internet.

Children of Samuel b. in Warren Co. prior to 1921 as follows: Anna Gertrude b. 3/1/1907, Thomas F. b. 3/28/1910, Vincent b. 12/11/1914 and Charles b. 12/17/1920. (See 1920 Census below for additional children Edith and Rose)

1920 Census, Linn Township, Warren Co. Iowa shows the following for Samuel and his family:

Samuel Bell 43y b. Iowa father b. OH/mother b.PA
Mary 38y b. Iowa father b.VA/mother b. WI
Rose M. 14y b. Iowa
Anna G. 12y b. Iowa
Thomas F. 10y b. Iowa
Edith M. 7y b. Iowa
Vincent 5y b. Iowa
