Looking to locate about info about ancestor John NMI Devine--born Oct1,1829 County Mayo Ireland. Emigrated in 1840--civil war vet Company1, 18th Iowa infantry from Feb 1864 to July 1865. Married Diza Ferguson with 7 children--later marrried Mary THomas with 6 children. Farmed in Sandyville and Truro. Reportedly buried in Sandyville cemetery. Searching for date of death, middle initial, parents names, siblings names. Anxious to find what resources may be available in your area. His grandson was my grandfather Glenn Devine--Iowa football All-American in 1821. Would like to communicate with any family including the Ferguson or Thomas branch.
