Jesse D. Thompson, b. 1837 North Carolina, son of Thomas Thompson and Elizabeth Benbow was disowned by the Three Rivers [Quaker] Monthly Meeting of Warren Co., Iowa on 12 Nov 1855 for "marriage contrary to discipline", in this case marriage by a civil ceremony.
