Margaret Eleanor Stole, 89, passed away November 1, 2012. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Margaret was born January 22, 1923 to Oscar and Carrie Norman. She was very artistic and enjoyed square dancing, cake decorating, ceramic painting, and tole painting. Margaret also enjoyed doing hand embroidery and being a seamstress. She was a member of the Capitol Hill Lutheran Church, Queen's, Joanna Circle, and the VFW.
Margaret is survived by her son, Lawrence (Charlotte) Stole, daughters, Kathleen (James) Glenn, and Rebecca (Jerry) Whiteley all of Des Moines; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rose Stole of Des Moines and Alpha Nelsen of Ames. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newell "Bud" Stole and four brothers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McLaren's Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Iowa Hospice.
