Barbara Dee Childers Truitt, daughter of Dan Childers and Mary (Long) Childers was born February 27, 1978 in Red Oak, Iowa and died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at 34 years of age, due to injuries from a motorcycle accident.
Barbara grew up in the Truro community and graduated from I 35 High School and attended DMACC. She married Michael Truitt and they are the parents of a son Jackson.
Barbara moved to Des Moines after college and has been working for Wells Fargo Financial for several years. She returned to the Truro area and recently moved to Norwalk. Barbara enjoyed scrap booking, reading, shopping, and music and had played in Jazz band in high school. She enjoyed time with friends socializing and having a good time. Her greatest love was her time with her son Jackson and her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her grandmother, Beulah Buress. She leaves to cherish her memory, son Jackson Truitt of Des Moines; parents, Dan and Mary Childers of New Virginia; sister, Brandy (Garritt) Grandberg of Woodburn; nieces, Olivia, Gracie and Avah Grandberg of Woodburn; grandparents, Ernest and Marylou Long of Lenora, KS; grandfather, Bill Buress of Kirksville, MO as well as many aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Barbara's family will gather at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. for a visitation. Memorial contributions may be directed to her family for a tribute to be decided later. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.kalefuneralhome.com.
