Amy B. Montgomery
Amy B. Montgomery, daughter of John S. and Hannah J. Crawford, was born near Danville, Des Moines County, March 17, 1869, and died at home in New Virginia Feb. 27, 1956, age 86 years, 11 months and 10 days. In 1870 with her parents, she moved from Des Moines County to their homestead in Warren County. On Oct 7, 1890 she was united in marriage to Charles W. Montgomery, who died Feb. 24, 1925. To them two sons were born, John E. and William A., both of New Virginia. Surviving are two sons, two daughters-in-law, four living grandchildren, five grandchildren-in-law, 10 great grandchildren, one brother, Albert Crawford, Tulare, Calif., nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. She was a member of the Baptist church. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Leroy Moore at the Methodist Church in New Virginia, and burial was in the New Virginia Cemetery.
