Obituary
Abner Joseph Bunn, son of Mahalah and William Bunn, was born in Peoria, Ill., May 1, 1862, and passed away Dec 27, 1938 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 27 days. On February 7, 1884, he was united in marriage to Sarah Hall. They lived 19 years in Illinois then moved to Iowa on a farm north of Kent. In 1920 he retired from the farm and moved to Indianola where he resided. His wife died four years ago. On March 1, 1938 he moved to Cromwell where he passed away. Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bunn. One daughter, Ethel, preceded him in death two years ago. Surviving are his children: Mrs. Charity Bowman of Cameron, MO., John of New Richland, Minn., Clinton of Conrad, Iowa, Jennie O’Riley of Nevada, Iowa; Dale of Kent, Iowa; Norris of Lenox, Iowa, Eugene of Cromwell, Iowa, Glenn of Kalamazoo, Mich.; Ruth Simpson of Indianola, Iowa and Helen Pennisten of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, William Bunn of Atchinson, Kans., one sister, Nannie Zepp of Oregon, 29 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a good father in his home, a good neighbor and always ready to help in the church work or anything pertaining to the betterment of the community. His six sons were pallbearers and he was laid to rest by the side of his wife in the Cromwell Cemetery.
