Kevin Glenn Wickett
(June 30, 1957 - September 30, 2022)

Kevin Eugene Wickett, age 65, peacefully passed away on September 30th, 2022, at his home in Indianola after a courageous five-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Kevin was born on June 30th 1957, in Des Moines, Iowa, to parents William Eugene Wickett and Carolyn Coleen Arnold. He graduated from SE Warren High School in 1975. He married Linda Lee Amos in 1979 and the couple had two children together: Bryan Thomas Wickett, and Amy Lee Wickett (Reinert). Kevin began what would be a long, very successful career in construction shortly after graduating high school. Kevin worked at Downing Construction for five years as a framer and project manager for residential and commercial projects; Brad Butler Construction for seven years remodeling residential and commercial spaces; Neumann Millwork for eleven years as a custom cabinet maker completing projects for high profile clients to include Sony, and The Smithsonian Museum; Neumann Brothers for 17 years as a superintendent, managing projects at Terrace Hill, Clear Channel Radio, Iowa Lottery, Iowa Finance Authority, Neal Smith Federal Building, Banker’s Trust and Ruan; a short stint at Larson & Larson to complete an extensive finish and trim project of the atrium and lobby at Mary Greeley Hospital; and retired with Ryan Companies as a superintendent, where he managed projects at Principal, Delta Dental, Nationwide, and Life Care Services in Capital Square. Kevin was a great family man and a loving father. He took great care of the things he loved the most – family, work, home, and his vehicles. Kevin and Linda had many adventures together including racing Corvettes with the local corvette club. Kevin was an active man who enjoyed fly fishing on family vacations to the mountains of the western United States. Kevin led the family on many vacations to western states of South Dakota, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. Kevin and Linda continued the tradition themselves with trips west, experiencing an especially memorable trip in 2014 to Glacier National Park in Montana. Kevin was a master carpenter and home improvement expert thanks to his attention to detail and was a true perfectionist. For the majority of his life, he spent time creating in his home shop or spending time enjoying the company of his family and friends. His family and friends will always remember him as a hardworking, dedicated, and loyal person. Kevin later welcomed the company of his three grandchildren: Colton Dean Wickett, Jace Thomas Wickett, and Lola Jaymes Reinert.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Carolyn (Arnold Wickett) Lundberg; his wife, Linda (Amos) Wickett; sisters, Kathy (Rusty) Long and Kristy Wilson Wickett; mother-in-law, Mildred “Millie” Amos; son, Bryan (Alexandra) Wickett; daughter, Amy (Jeremy) Reinert; grandchildren, Colton Wickett, Jace Wickett, and Lola Reinert; step-sister, Becky King; step-brother, Steve Lundberg; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt, uncle; and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his father William “Bill” Wickett, and father-in-law Harold Dean Amos. The family would like to thank all who cared for Kevin throughout the last five years: Iowa Clinic, Unity Point Health Neurology – Lynn Struck MD, Iowa Methodist Medical Center downtown, Methodist West, Every Step Hospice Des Moines and Knoxville, and WesleyLife at Home.
Services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2022 at Center Chapel United Methodist Church in Indianola with burial in the IOOF Cemetery, Indianola.
