Kathleen Sue Houseman
(September 19, 1940 - October 9, 2022)

Services for Kathleen Sue Houseman (Sadler, Dilks, Haskin, Fox), 82, who passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022 in Des Moines, will be held 10 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Liberty Center United Methodist Church, with burial following in the Liberty Center Cemetery. Sue was a caregiver and a foster parent to 114 children. Mom was the strongest, most loving and caring person. She had many talents and hobbies. Although she held many job titles her most proud and rewarding was caregiving. She was a foster parent and daycare provider to many needing the care she had to give.
Mom's most important title though was mom and grandma. She took a lot of pride in her family. She loved her family greatly and unconditionally. There was nothing she wouldn’t give or do for anyone. Fishing was her most favorite hobby. She fished with her grandparents and her parents. She spent as much time as possible fishing with her kids and grandkids. Always trying for the big catch. She caught a few. She will be greatly missed by many. But mostly by her family. I love you mom!
Sue is survived by her children, Jeff Dilks, Kevin (Jana) Dilks, Jeri (Blake) Cooper, Karl (Jacque) Dilks, Tammy (Jeff) Jay, Naudika Houseman, Alex Houseman, Angelina Houseman; 24 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry (Audrey) Sadler, Francis Sadler; and many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brandy Dilks; parents, Ivan and Vasca Sadler; brother, Ivan Sadler Jr. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 13 at the church where family will be present to greet friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League in her name.
