(September 4, 1925 - October 15, 2022)

Services for Paul Wright, 97, of Lucas, Iowa, who passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 in West Des Moines, will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 19 at the First Baptist Church in Indianola, with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Paul was united in marriage to Freda Darlene Young on April 14, 1945, to which union three children, Gerald, Farrel and Donna, were born. Paul farmed all his adult life. He was 4H leader, served on the Board of Directors for the COOP, enjoyed playing cards in Liberty Center with the Legion guys. He teased everyone and he had a signature laugh. He always took his grandkids for tractor rides and was an avid hat collector.
Paul is survived by his children, Gerald (Joan) Wright, Farrel Wright, Donna Knust; grandchildren, Leah (Tim) Brown, Jana (Erick) Zawojewski, Drew (Cassidee Parks) Wright, Cory (Kaye) Knust, Sherri (Wade) Schurman, Kelly (Travis) Eckstein; great-grandchildren, Jared Brown, Alec (Jordan Bryne) Brown and Kailey Brown, Rhys and Rya Zawojewski, Blake and Emma Schurman, Jake Heinkel and Zach Hunt, Natalie, Makenzie and Grant Eckstein, Emersyn and Irelyn Sliger, Maylyn Wright, Adler Wright, Nicole (Nate) Harvey and Matt (Rachel) Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Wright, parents, Bert and Ada (Lucas) Wright, brothers, Frank Wright and Elmer Wright.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Indianola. Memorials may be given to the Liberty Center American Legion Post #661 or Liberty Center United Methodist Church.
