Evelyn Kay Lull
(December 11, 1951 - December 10, 2022)

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Evelyn Kay Lull, 70, of St. Charles, who passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at home, will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Today we honor the life of our mom, Kay Lull. She was truly an amazing woman who was the kindest and most loving person we knew. Kay was born in Colorado on December 11th 1951. She later moved to Missouri and then to Winterset where she was introduced to Steve Lull whom she married in 1971. They were married for 51 years, had 4 daughters and 5 grandchildren.
For many years she was a stay at home mom and would attend all of our school events and be our home room mother for activities and holiday parties. She eventually began to drive a school bus for I35. She spent 28 years as a bus driver and loved every minute. She was much more than a bus driver to the students and more like a second mom, a friend to talk to, and a mentor. She also drove the bus to all of our field trips, basketball games, music and band events. We felt privileged to have her there to help out and look after us. In her later years Kay worked as a bank teller for F&M State Bank in Saint Charles. Some of Kay's hobbies were riding dirt bikes, making beautiful crochet keepsakes, visiting with friends and spoiling the grandkids. She was our mom, our best friend and the rock of our family. She will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts forever. Survivors include her husband, Steve of 51 years; children, Stephanie (Travis) Christensen, Jennifer Lull, Tresa Lull, and Christina Lull; grandchildren, Caleb Lull, Kaitlin Christensen, Ellie Herring, Aiden Herring and Evan Herring; siblings, Fran (Ed) Evans, Johnnie (Darrel) Lourens, Mary Petro, Alice Branson, and Leroy (Marie) Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Wanda Miller, siblings, Patsy Myers and Matt Lee Miller, and Aunt Helen.
